What Is Bakuchiol?

Bakuchiol mainly exists in the seeds of the Indian plant "psoralen". Bakuchiol is the main component of the essential oil of the common Chinese medicine psoralen, accounting for more than 60% of its essential oil. It is an isoprenyl phenolic terpenoid compound. Easy to oxidize, with the nature of water vapor overflow. 

Bakuchiol, a miracle ingredient, is a new alternative to retinol, without the burning pain, irritation, and redness of traditional retinol. Bakuchiol originated in rehabilitation therapy and has a long history of use in Indian Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. It is now known in Western skin care research as a natural retinoid.
