What Is Folic Acid?

Folic Acid is necessary for the body to use sugars and amino acids, and for the growth and reproduction of the body's cells.

Folic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin. Folic Acid belongs to vitamin B9 and contains one or more glutamyl groups. Most naturally occurring folic acid is polyglutamic acid form. The biologically active form of folic acid is tetrahydrofolate. Folic Acid is a yellow crystal and slightly soluble in water, but its sodium salt is highly soluble in water.

Folic Acid is a water-soluble B vitamin, which is necessary for the growth and reproduction of body cells.

1. For the blood system, folic acid, together with vitamin B12, promotes the growth and maturation of red blood cells, so Folic Acid is very important for the treatment of anemia.
